The 18th Annual Celebrity Championship is back May 20-22, 2016, at Morgan Run Club & Resort! NFL Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk will serve as the host, which brings over 50 of the best celebrity golfers in the world together to participate in a Celeb-Am Tournament and compete in a celebrity-only competition for a cash purse and the coveted Celebrity Championship trophy!

The weekend long competition is a fantastic event for fans of all ages including families, friends and business professionals to network and foster new connections.  The 2016 Celebrity Championship includes a two-day Celebrity-Amateur tournament (May 20-21) nightly parties, and a 36-hole, celebrity-only competition (May 21-22).  The general public is encouraged to attend all three days of festivities.

Since its inception in 1999, the tournament has raised nearly $2 million on behalf of numerous San Diego based charities. This year, charitable proceeds will be donated to The Junior Seau Foundation and The Marshall Faulk Foundation. 

Wrapping up the 16th Annual Celebrity Championship

May 16-18, Integrated Sports Marketing proudly welcomed back NFL Hall of Fame Running Back Marshall Faulk as the host of the 16th annual Celebrity Championship. The 2014 tournament returned for its third year at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa. The event raised $135,000, which benefited the Junior Seau Foundation and the Marshall Faulk Foundation. In addition, a portion of the proceeds supported the displaced families in the recent San Diego Wildfires.

The tournament festivities included parties on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night where there was food provided by some of the best restaurants in San Diego. The activities on Friday included a Kid's Clinic sponsored by Gatorade and Ralphs.  Kids in attendance received instruction from celebrities and Omni La Costa Resort and Spa golf staff. On Sunday the Celebrity Championship welcomed all current and retired military and their families for the 8th Annual Military Appreciation. All in attendance received free lunch from Carl's Jr.

The tournament brought together over 50 well known professional athletes and celebrities to compete. Our 6-time winner, Rick Rhoden, took home the $10,000 in prize money and the coveted Celebrity Championship Trophy. This year’s tournament participants included: Ray Romano, Goose Gossage, Bruce Jenner, Bret Boone, and Mark-Paul Gosselaar.

Do you like reggae music? Miles Doughty of Slightly Stoopid and Marley D. Williams of Rebelution will be golfing this weekend at the Celebrity Championship.

Slightly Stoopid, a rock and reggae band out of Ocean Beach, CA has been throughout the music scene since 1995 with songs like "Wiseman", "Officer" and Top of the World".  Their most recent studio album, "Top of the World", reached as high as No. 13 on the Billboard 200 and No. 3 for Independent albums.

Rebelution is a world, rock and reggae band that has its roots in Santa Barbra, California.  Since 2004, Rebelution has been highly regarded as one of the most popular reggae bands.  In 2007, their album "Bright Side of Life" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums and No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200.

Support the Celebrity Championship Charitable Beneficiaries

Do you have a passion for charitable endeavors and would like to help improve the lives of San Diego youth? You are able to support local San Diego charitable organizations through the 2014 Celebrity Championship golf tournament May 16th-18th! Since its inception in 1999, the Celebrity Championship has raised over $1.2 million dollars for San Diego based charities. The 2014 Celebrity Championship charitable beneficiaries are the Junior Seau Foundation and the Marshall Faulk Foundation.

The Junior Seau Foundation was founded in 1992 with the purpose of raising money and resources for programs that inspire young people to face life’s challenges with enthusiasm, hope and dignity. The proceeds from the Celebrity Championship will benefit the Shop with a Jock program of the Junior Seau Foundation. Every December, the Junior Seau Foundation will team up with Target and over 250 local professional and amateur athletes to give 250 underprivileged children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Diego the opportunity to shop for gifts for their loved ones.

The Marshall Faulk Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for San Diego youth by increasing opportunities for them to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. To date, the Marshall Faulk Foundation has provided more than $1 million dollars in financial assistance and hands-on involvement to programs in Indianapolis, St. Louis, New Orleans and Southern California. The Marshall Faulk Foundation provides funding for The JRYMCA's youth sports programs and after care and also provides scholarships for athletes at San Diego State University.

Register for Free Military Lunch @ Celebrity Championship

The sixteenth annual Celebrity Championship hosted by Marshall Faulk is right around the corner and will be held this year May 16-18 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa. The tournament will feature over 50 celebrity golfers; that include some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment. Military Day will be held Sunday, May 18 and will include free Carl’s Jr. lunch to the first 2,000  military families to register.

Each year for the past eight consecutive years, the Celebrity Championship has devoted the last day of the tournament to honor our service men and women. Military Day is the one day out of the tournament weekend designed to pay tribute to all our brave men and women who serve or have served in the armed forces. As well as honoring our local hometown heroes from local bases in and around San Diego County.

The Celebrity Championship is free of charge to attend for active and retired military and their loved ones, which includes Military Day. Not to mention the first 2,000 military to register will enjoy free Carl's Jr. Lunch in an exclusive Military area at the Omni La Costa Resort venue. Attendees will also be able to enjoy free bounce-houses, snowcones and popcorn from LB Jumpers as well as participate in other games and putting contests.
